In this study we will discuss the Gospel reading for the day. The Gospel text carries the theme for the Sundays of the Church Year. As we gather, online via Zoom, we are ensconced in the safety of our own home, yet able to see fellow participates and engage in edifying discussion. "ABUNDANCE FOR YOU IN THE PARABLES" Begins September 18th
On Sunday, September 18th, we will begin a new study of the parables in the Gospels. What is Jesus saying to Christians today through the parables recorded in the Gospels? When we study the background and meaning of the text we can see the relevance of Jesus' words in the face of the issues confronting our Church as a whole and for us as individuals. We believe that the resurrected Lord is through the Holy Spirit speaking to
men and women in their concrete life situation right now. Ask yourself in the next month: Could Jesus's parables actually help me get through the troubles, challenges, and strains that prevent me from grasping the peace and joy of being God's children? If the answer is yes or even maybe, an hour from 9:30 to 10:30 on Sunday morning may very well be worth your while.

8. Know the Folly of False Teachers

BE STILL and KNOW by Deb Burma See important dates below
Description: Study Psalm 46 in detail, examine stormy situations, and look to narratives in the Gospels that showcase how Jesus met women in the midst of their storms of life. He provided rest, refuge, strength, and hope to women, who met Him with a cry and need. Have you ever cried to Him too? Jesus responds to you as He did to these women in Scripture with care that goes further than immediate or recognized need. He transformed their lives by His redemption, and He began by meeting them where He will meet you: in the storm.
