Meet our Staff


  • Principal


    Mr. Keith Traska is our new principal this year and has served as a teacher and coach for over 21 years, both in Lutheran and public schools. He has his undergrad in Math and Education from CUW, and his Masters in Education from National Louis University. He has been married to his wife, Kay, for 21 years, and they have three children. Stryker will be a junior at Michigan Lutheran this year, Peytra will be in 8th grade at Trinity, along with Zion who will be in 5th grade. During his free time, Mr. Traska enjoys spending time with his family, playing fantasy football, landscaping, sports, and video games. He is dedicated to helping the ministry at Trinity and is looking forward to the school year!

  • Office Manager


    Angela is new to the Trinity family. She is the mother of two wonderful children- Anali and James. Her and her family relocated from Hammond, Indiana in August 2015 and have since grown to love the beautiful state of Michigan. Angela is in her first year of obtaining a Bachelors degree in Accounting after 4+ years in the accounts payable/receivables department. Angela enjoys singing, writing, but holds family time spent watching her children grow the closest to her heart. 

  • Kindergarten


    Addie is the new kindergarten teacher this year.  She has been called to serve in Lutheran schools for 10 years now.  She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Early Childhood Education at Concordia University, Nebraska.  She is surrounded by handsome men those being her husband Cory and 3 sons; Grady, Ward, and Ian.  When spending time with her family they enjoy being outside in God's beautiful creation planting flowers, fishing, or taking a leisurely walk. 

  • 1st  Grade


    Kim Kelly has served at Trinity since 2006. During her time here she has volunteered, been a substitute teacher, taught Kindergarten and is now in her current position as our 1st grade teacher. Kim earned her BA from Hope College and her Colloquy from Concordia. Kim is the mother of 3 beautiful children, Sam, Hannah, and Max who all have attended Trinity. Her husband Dave is the Curriculum Director at New Buffalo Area Schools. They have been married 31 years. They love to spend time with family, play tennis, and ride their Harley. Kim loves to be outside, plant flowers, and take walks.

  • 2nd Grade


    Amy Roth has been teaching at Trinity since 2012. Prior to that, she served for over 20 years in children’s ministries, teaching and directing Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and MOPS. She earned her BA from Siena Heights University and Master Degrees in both Special Education and Early Childhood Education. She is married to Michael and has 8 children. She loves spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.

  • 3rd Grade


    Heather Steffens has been teaching at Trinity since 2007. She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Concordia University, River Forest and a Master’s Degree in Reading and Language Arts from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. Heather enjoys spending time with her husband and four children and loves living near Lake Michigan.

    Alison Jakubs has been teaching at Trinity since 2015. She attended Concordia University, Ann Arbor and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education - Language Arts in May 2015. In 2020, Alison earned her Master's Degree in Reading Education from Concordia University Chicago. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Ben, and loves to visit her family in her free time. 

  • 7th & 8th Grade


    Jeff Weiss received his Bachelor's in Elementary Education - Mathematics from Concordia University, Ann Arbor. From the town of Christmas and German Chicken, Jeff was raised in Frankenmuth, Michigan and enjoys going there for family time. Jeff, his wife, and sons currently reside in South Bend, Indiana. Jeff enjoys spending time with his growing family, weight lifting, tinkering with a variety of items, and proclaiming Christ risen.
